Monroe has undergone many changes in the last ten years. The town is located in southern Middlesex County approximately 1 hour from New York and the Philadelphia Metro areas, and close to the New Jersey shore points. Monroe is also close to major shopping malls and all points of interest while maintaining some farming and expanding its housing which combine to give the town a perfect feel of being rural yet close to everything.

This location affords it to be a great town for commuting and entertainment being right off of Exit 8A of the New Jersey Turnpike. Monroe has evolved from a farming town to a township that has grown into one of the nicest places to live in 2016. With its preserved open space plan, highly ranked school, recreational facilities, state of the art public library and senior center, it can accommodate a great lifestyle for families, singles, or seniors.
